The Astoria Hotel was built in 1925. Part of our charm is in the little details of our rooms. This guide will help you with frequently asked questions from our guests.
Checkout is at 11am. We kindly ask that if you are requiring a later checkout time you ask our front desk staff as soon as possible.
WIFI
There is a code for the username on and password on your desk or below your TV. If you cannot find the code, check the WIFI router, which is the small box underneath your TV.
Air Conditioning
Air conditioners are on the wall attached to, or beside the window. There is an ‘on’ switch which will push cold air into your room. If you want the best from your air conditioner, make sure your window is fully closed, and your bathroom fan is on.
Room Heating
There is a register along the floor of your room underneath the window. The hotel uses a hot water heating system to prevent drying out the room with a heating fan. The register has a knob at the far end, sometimes hidden by the bed, which can be turned to adjust the heat level in your room.
Shower Temperature
Sometimes the temperature in the shower can fluctuate due to old water piping. If the shower temperature is not changing when you move the dial, then turn the tap on to the opposite temperature you are requiring.
Television
Not every tv is the same. Yet all TV’s use the Shaw Digital Cable box for access to TV programs. If your room has 2 remotes, then one remote will have a ‘SHAW’ label at the top. This remote is used to turn on the digital cable box, and select channels from the guide. The other remote will be for the TV itself, and will adjust the volume.
If your TV is not working follow these steps first:
Make sure the digital cable box is turned ON
Using the INPUT button make sure the TV is selected to the source of the digital cable box. For example, if your digital cable box is plugged into HDMI 2 in the back of the TV, you will need to check if the TV is selected onto the HDMI 2 source
If you have a SMART TV in your room you will need to be sure the TV is selected to Cable options. This will be available by scrolling through the Homepage of your SMART TV
If none of these options have worked for you, then you can try searching for the solution on GOOGLE, or calling FRONT DESK (who will also be searching for the solution on GOOGLE)

The Bench Bike Shop This is a boutique bike shop located downtown. Here you will find the best selection of bike gear, clothing, and bike rentals Jasper has to offer
RANSOM Clothing If you looking to do some shopping while in Jasper then stop in at RANSOM. This clothing shop offers authentic styles and custom made clothing and accessories that make for tasteful, and fashionable souvenirs
Jasper Beer & Wine Cellar This small liquor shop has whatever it is you are thirsty for. An impressive basement dedicated to wines from around the world, a walk in cooler with an array of Craft Beers, and everything in between!
Gravity Gear This sports store offers everything climbing and ski touring. Stop in to this shop if you want to blend in with the local adventure enthusiasts
